| 270 mile report can be found here: La-Z-Link OK, at the risk of sounding like a moving advertisment......These things rock!! In a lot of ways, this is better than turbo upgrade because you really get seriuos SOTP effect without any lag. Granted I have upgraded turbos, so the effect is cumulative. For the money, these are right up there with DPs as far as mod goes which puts them at near the top of a very short list. If you have larger than stock diameter wheels, these are simply a must. Now on my particular car, before the DPs, at 1 bar my rear wheels broke loose only in first gear with my 275w35x18s. The stock wheels at the same level would have easily broken in second gear. After the SS DPs, my wheels started cutting lose in second. Now with the addition of the gears, 3rd gear breaks loose every time at 1 bar, but not .85 bar. This means that at 75 MPH, mashing the throttle results in losing traction. Traction *is* an issue. If you don't want traction to be an issue, don't get these gears :) My rear tires are S-03s with 6/32s left. Obvious SOTP acceleration is much greater everywhere. I can hardly believe it's only a 10% reduction in ratio Also, keep in mind that my wheels put me at 4% tall over stock gearing, so the addition of these gears although 10% shorter than stock only have me at a net of 6% short. Around town drivability is hugely improved given my slightly too tall gearing before. With the gears and the DPs, off the line feels very much like my C5 did except the C5 had nowhere near the midrange or upper range that the Z has(My C5 was an '01 which was the year they bumped torque from 350 to 375). Gas mileage is unaffected at freeway cruise. Pleased with this as you can guess by current gas prices. Displayed mileage increased off course because of the shorter gearing so it appeared that gas mileage increased, but after correcting for odometer error, gas mileage remained unchanged. This is only preliminary based on the last tank, so it might be pre-mature especially given that I may be driving slightly slower than before (subconscious speedometer obayment). In the first report, I noted a very slight whine between 65 and 68. This so far is unchanged. There's no other gear noise at any RPM either during acceleration decelleration.
